At Thompson Counseling & Consulting, our workshops are grounded in evidence-based psychoeducation and resilience science, informed by over 1 decade of experience supporting professionals in high-stress, trauma-exposed environments. Each session is facilitated through the lens and expertise of adult learning, trauma-informed care, and active psychological service delivery across humanitarian, development, nonprofit, corporate, and emergency response settings.
Our workshops combine conceptual insight with practical tools to foster personal and professional
resilience. Sessions can be tailored to reflect your organization’s unique context, drawing on data from consultations, employee surveys, or other assessments to ensure relevance and impact.
To enhance engagement, we use interactive tools such as anonymous response systems, reflective
exercises, and scenario-based learning that support processing and skill application. Workshops are
available in-person or virtually and can be delivered as standalone sessions or compiled into
customized learning plans that align with your strategic goals.
Below are detailed descriptions of each workshop within these themes with more added as trainings are delivered.

high degree of sudden and traumatic losses. Death and grieving are a normal part of life;
however, there are times when, due to the nature of the loss or the blocking of normal
grieving practices, people can get stuck in more chronic states of traumatic grief. This is
particularly true when one has had a family member or close attachment relationship die
in a violent or sudden manner. Complicated grief can also be heightened when the death
is unknown or unresolved, such as in the case of missing persons or sudden deaths. This
workshop explores normal grieving reactions and pinpoints key signs that someone may
be experiencing more complications in their grieving that may require a higher degree of
attention and intervention. This workshop will also provide key skills and concepts to
support people in moving towards a healthier grieving process through the utilization of
both trauma and grief research. Special attention is also given to the contextual reality of
the ways persons grieve in various cultures. Space is created to foster creative
problem-solving regarding ways to grieve well, considering the context and potential
meaningful rituals of the grieving individuals and community.
