Fractional Strategist Partnership Process

Phase 1: Inception & Discovery Mission

Purpose: Establish a relationship, identify needs, and align on outcomes.

  • Key Activities: Initial Inquiry, Discovery Call to review pain points and desired outcomes, and assess current efforts.
  • Deliverable: A brief Summary of Findings & Recommendations Memo highlighting key themes and suggested tier of engagement.

Phase 2: Proposal & Agreement

Purpose: Formalize the scope, expectations, and structure of the partnership.

  • Key Activities: Development of a Tailored Proposal (outlining tier, objectives, deliverables, and fees) which transitions into a formal MOU / Service Agreement.
  • Deliverable: Signed MOU outlining mutual expectations and partnership framework.

Phase 3: Onboarding & Alignment

Purpose: Set the foundation for collaboration, trust, and flow of work.

  • Key Activities: A Kickoff Meeting to introduce stakeholders, align on goals and metrics, and confirm scheduling. Resource access and integration are secured.
  • Deliverable: Kickoff Summary & Implementation Plan outlining milestones and communication rhythm.

Phase 4: Implementation & Support

Purpose: Set the foundation for collaboration, trust, and flow of work.

Purpose: Deliver services, adapt to emerging needs, and demonstrate impact.

  • Key Activities: Delivery of agreed-upon Services (e.g., Confidential Consultations, Coaching, Workshops, Critical Incident Response). Includes ongoing monthly Strategy Calls and Progress Reports.
  • Deliverable: Progress Memos and Implementation Updates.Deliverable: Kickoff Summary & Implementation Plan outlining milestones and communication rhythm.

Phase 5: Evaluation & Continuity

Purpose: Reflect, measure impact, and sustain progress.

  • Key Activities: Formal Impact Review to assess outcomes against objectives. Renewal or Transition Planning to decide on next steps and develop a continuity plan.
  • Deliverable: End-of-Engagement Report summarizing impact, lessons learned, and next steps.

  • Donor/partner-facing input on resilience and staff care strategy
